Decisions

The latest episode of Glee kind of pissed me off. Once again, they're acting like high school is the be-all, end-all of life. Kids, mommy needs you to listen. High school is just that. You have the whole rest of your life to be whatever you want to be. Think about all the people who have hit their stride in their (gasp!) 30s, 40s, and 50s! I'm not saying that you kids don't have important decisions to make, but damn, this show is putting some unnecessary pressure on these kids!

For example, Finn needed to make up his own mind - and I'm not sure Will, Emma, and Rachel's intervention really helped. If anything he needed to sit down with his mom and talk to her about what he wanted to pursue. But, of course, the mom is only present incidentally, not in any real parenting capacity. Which kind of irritates me, as well.

I was not into the whole Rachel/Finn making up story, because I can taste them breaking them up in the last few episodes of the season. Just let them break up already.

I did love the Saturday Night Fever theme, because I love that album. I was raised on that album. My mother loves disco, and I love disco, and that is the disco album for the ages. A few of the performances really stood out to me, like Mercedes doing Disco Inferno and Santana doing If I Can't Have You. Everything else was just ... blah to me. I'm not sure why.

I'm just hoping the next episode will hold my attention and give me something I can live for.

Cherish

Valentine's Day (or week, whatever) was positively hopping on Glee. Some couples are more solid than ever, while some are done before they even really began.

Rachel and Finn are intent on getting married this year - May, in fact, despite some of the Glee kids objections. Rachel's dads even try some sneaky reverse psychology, but these kids are more determined than ever to tie the knot. I can't wait for the wedding episode next week!!

Sam and Mercedes are not going to pursue their relationship, since Mercedes had such a hard time confessing her kiss with Sam to her now ex-boyfriend. I'm proud of Mercedes for not jumping into a relationship with Sam right away, or at all. She's being mature and realizes she isn't ready to be anyone's girlfriend right now. Her rendition of "I Will Always Love You" was so moving, especially in light of Whitney Houston's passing. It was a coincidence that the episode aired just days after the legendary diva passed away, but the dedication at the end of the episode was beautiful. Nice job, Ryan Murphy.

Kurt and Blaine are still going strong, despite a shocking love confession from one David Karovsky. Really?! OMG!! I was so floored when the secret admirer turned out to be him. Let's find him a nice boy at his new school so he can leave Kurt alone, shall we?

Brittany and Santana locked lips at the end of the episode, after Principal Figgins prevented them from doing so earlier in the show. The God Squad (a new-ish Christian kids club at school) even serenaded the couple at the big Valentine's Day party. Looks like these girls are officially a couple.

Newcomer Sugar (who is hilarious) chose to go to the party with Rory, who's supposedly set to be deported, over Artie, but I have a feeling that whole situation is going to be turned upside down next week.

Speaking of next week, Sue's preggers!!

Sexy and I Know It

This week's Glee was MUY CALIENTE with special guest star Ricky Martin as the Latino-luscious David Martinez. David teaches Spanish in adult school, where Will goes to perfect his Spanish skills after being called out for some stereotype-promoting behavior in the classroom. Ricky - or David, I should say - comes into the Glee classroom to show the kids how to put some "duende" in their performances, and the assignment for the week is revealed, Latin songs it is.

Did I miss it, or did Rachel not sing a song this week? I would have loved to see her take on a Shakira or a even a Julieta Venegas number. That would have been fun.

I loved Mercedes' song to Sam (Gloria Estefan's "Don't Wanna Lose You"), it was a great song. And Mercedes looked absolutely STUNNING the entire episode! Loving her whole look these days.

Rachel and Finn are still engaged, Sue wants a baby, Nene was hilarious in this episode, and Santana squealed on Will's questionable Spanish class curriculum.

David ends up being offered the new Spanish teacher position and Will is going to teach history. Not the most exciting episode, but I'm looking forward to the Valentine's Day show next week.

We Found Love

I am SO glad "Glee" is back!! I really missed this show. I'll be discussing major plotlines, so if you haven't watched the show yet, SPOILER ALERT!!!

So, Artie and Becky went out on a couple dates, but Artie eventually had to break things off because he doesn't have real feelings for her. Did anyone else love the fact that Becky's inner thoughts are narrated by Helen Mirren. So adorable.

Will and Emma talk marriage, but her parents are such judgmental douchebags, they actually make Will think twice about marrying Emma because of her OCD. Um, here's a thought, why haven't Will and Emma gone to couple's counseling yet? Is Emma getting any kind of treatment at all? Because that's really step one, you know?

Anywhoo, Will finally does propose and it is ... magical. I friggin' cried.

And I gotta shout out Ms. Nene Leakes as swim coach Roz Washington. She was AWESOME! Not like awesome for a reality star awesome, like really, really good! Not many people know Nene was an actress before Real Housewives of Atlanta, and she talked about going to do pilots every year on the Watch What Happens Live After Show on Sunday. So, good for you, Nene. Can't wait to see you back on the show on February 7th.

Now, let's talk about the biggest surprise of the episode. Seriously, WTF was Finn thinking proposing to Rachel??? Doesn't he realize that she's going to New York as soon as she graduates? Maybe this is all the build up to them breaking up. I wish he would have just given her a promise ring and not proposed. But maybe this will force Rachel to break up with Finn once and for all and find her Broadway producer husband and live happily ever after. Or something like that.

Mercedes still has feelings for Sam, and I think they're a great couple. Go for it, Mercedes!!
