No Love Lost

The conclusion of the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Reunion this week was really more of the same, but entertaining as hell. What are we gonna do? Just sit back and enjoy the ridiculousness.

I just have to laugh about the whole Shay exchange with Lil Scrappy. Did she really expect him to treat her better than he treats his baby's mother??? Stop it, boo.

I loved that Joseline put it out there that she does not want Stevie as a boyfriend. She's using him just as much as he uses her. Hey, it's f*cked up, but at least it's honest. That scene with Joseline's parents was really sad and it makes me believe even more that she just acts the way she does as a defense mechanism. Stevie J is a disgusting human being. I have no sympathy for anything that happens to him. Mimi - you better just co-parent with him and leave it at that. And I don't think you need him at all.

Momma Dee made a huge fool out of herself, especially with that ridiculous crown. And how did Mona not call her out on not knowing how to spell "bitch"???

Erica accepted Scrappy's proposal. Why? Just ... WHY???

Karlie Redd called Benzino "A Polygamous" ... ummm ... someone needs to get her hooked on phonics with Momma Dee and Mama Jones at this point. Oy vey.

I will be watching next season for sure because believe it or not, this show makes me laugh. Don't judge me.

"Yes, GAWD, Nessa gurl" - Funky Dineva

Judge me if you must, but Part 1 of the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Reunion was hilarious. From Joseline's Mardi Gras mask to Funky Dineva's appearance to Rasheeda being escorted off the stage to Scrappy's unintelligible ramblings, it was all ratchet and all entertaining. This show gives me life, and I'm not ashamed to say it.

I won't give grades, because, let's face it, why bother? So let's just send out our thoughts to the ladies.

Joseline: You are always entertaining. I love how you own everything you've done - ratchet, ratcheter, or ratchetest. You never deny it. I don't agree with 99.9% of the things coming out of your mouth, but I respect that you are real about everything you do. There's no doubt what you're on this show for, and what you're with Creepy J for. I don't think it's going to bring you love and happiness in the long run, though. I hope you have a change of heart real soon. Until then, enjoy the limited fame and fortune a VH1 reality show brings. Ask Somaya about that.

Mimi: I don't think anyone is judging you because you got cheated on. You're getting judged because you keep talking to Creepy J and letting him back into your life. We saw it all season. So, don't get all hype now, acting like you're this strong, independent woman when you were back and forth with him all season. I like you, I really do, but this whole on again off again thing with Creepy J needs to be terminated permanently.

Erica: I love that you wore a nightie to the reunion. LOL! But seriously, I love your whole vibe and I believed it when you were about to give Joseline a piece of your mind. You're still my favorite.

Rasheeda: This whole thing with you and K.Michelle is so stupid. You don't believe her story. Fine. But you're talking about something that's in the past and that shouldn't be the case. You should be telling us what's happening with you NOW. Leave all that other bullsh*t in the past and keep it moving.

K.Michelle: You are funny, but what was going on with your hair??? Fire that hair stylist IMMEDIATELY! Your jokes were on point, but that's about it. I don't want you to continue talking about the abuse you suffered in the past, you should be talking about the work you're doing for your charity from now on. You should also be more focused on your career and getting yourself back in the public eye for your music.

Karlie: I have no interest in you or how old you are. That is all. Oh and you're not funny, either.

Momma Dee: I love how you see yourself as the Queen and Scrappy as the Prince - oh and YOU'RE the authority on keeping dignity in your "castle". LOL over and over again.

Ariane: I love that you're not afraid to put Stevie J/Creepy J in his place. Good for you.

Hit Him Again ... Hit Him for Me

Love and Hip Hop Atlanta was ah-may-zing this week! One of the best episodes of the entire season!!! I am beyond excited for the rest of the season. So let's get right into the episode and chop it up with the ladies.

Erica: You are so much better off without Scrappy, and I'm glad K. Michelle was the one to tell you. I think you're absolutely right about Scrappy. He's going to keep doing what he's doing regardless, because he never changed from the get-go. Leave him alone and let him play with Buckey/Shay - oh, and make sure he pays his child support. I will be so disappointed if you get back together with him after all of this. Oh, and just so it's clear - his behavior is the reason why you were not affectionate with him. How could you open your heart and your arms to him and be all lovey dovey when he's hurt you so much? His behavior caused you to constantly be on the defense. You're essentially always waiting for the other shoe to drop. That's why you couldn't be this affectionate person - he took that from you. Until he realizes that, he's just going to keep hurting every single woman he's with. But that doesn't mean you have to take it anymore. Erica's grade for the week: A (for not flipping out about the Shay stuff, she's too strong for that).

Rasheeda: I'm only gonna speak on this week's episode, because that preview got me heated about you, girl! But anyway, I think it was smart to talk to the girls about the whole Scrappy/Shay situation and sure enough, they were at the mixtape release party together, and K. Michelle was able to see it for herself and tell Erica what she saw with her own eyes. Now, about your management situation, I'm glad Kirk is finally seeing things from your perspective. It is time to think bigger and move forward. I think Deb is the perfect fit for you. I'm not even mad at her for not wanting Kirk in the studio. It's a new chapter and this is the best thing for everyone. By Kirk not being there, it will set up those boundaries that the two of you need to save your marriage. Rasheeda's grade for the week: A (because she's handling everything really well ... this week).

K. Michelle: I love you, girl! I think you're a great friend. One that will tell it like it is, but in the best way possible, until you get heated (which we'll see next week). I'm very happy with the way you talked to Erica about Scrappy/Shay. It was calm and you took her feelings into consideration. You told her what you saw and nothing more (at least from what we saw on the show). K.Michelle's grade for the week: A (for having Erica's back).

Karlie: I'm still unimpressed with you, but I think it's nice that you and Joseline are getting along. Both of you need a friend right now. I'm kind of mad at Benzino for wanting to buy you that ring, though. How long have you two been together? A couple of months? Really??? Karlie's grade for the week: B (for being friends with Joseline and falling ass-backwards into a ring from Benzino).

Mimi: I am so happy for you. That therapy session was everything you predicted and more. Who would have guessed that Creepy J was going to sink his own ship so fast? It was hilarious. Now, listen to me. DO NOT TAKE HIM BACK AGAIN. Just co-parent with him, and leave it at that. I was cracking up when you said in your confessional/interview, "hit him again, hit him for me". Beautiful! And I hope you saw what Creepy J's intentions are - to control both you and Joseline. RUN. Run away from that man as fast as you can, Mimi. He is a nutcase. Mimi's grade for the week: A (for proving her point and being the bigger person, I just hope she doesn't fall for that man again).

Joseline: Now, I understand you've probably never stepped foot in a therapists' office before. But physical altercations during therapy are usually a no-no. But I had to stand up and cheer when you beat the hell out of Creepy J. That was too great. I'm not condoning violence, but that was great, I'm sorry. You really should have known that his intentions were to get back together with Mimi, though. He's never told you (as far as we've seen on the show) that he doesn't want to be with her. And now, you heard it for yourself in his confessional/interview that his plan is to control the both of you. So not cool. I know you're still with him (from the Q & A session I linked on my last LHHA blog), so I'm not even going to tell you to run away. I'm gonna tell you to watch your back. I feel sorry for you because it's almost like you don't even think you deserve to be treated better. And that's the real tragedy. Joseline's grade for the week: F (for fighting at therapy, who does that?! Joseline does that!!)

The L Word

This week's Love and Hip Hop Atlanta was really, really good. I was very satisfied with all the drama and the storylines, although I still feel some are manufactured, they're all coming along really well. I'm glad this show is expanding to more topics than just Joseline and Stevie J (still Creepy as Hell J). Not that it isn't a major plotline, because it is, I'm just glad there's more going on with everyone else. And we're seeing it all unfold, which I love. Let's jump right in, shall we?

Mimi: After the therapy session, all I can say is, now I get it. I finally see where you're coming from and why you continue to let that man back into your life. My hope for you is that after watching the show, you're able to see him for what he really is - not the family man he's promising to be - and move on. You can co-parent with him, but you don't have to subject yourself to more lies in the future. And how much do I love Dr. Jeff Gardere??? He is amazing!! Love him!! Mimi's grade for the week: C (for going to therapy and opening up, but I'm afraid she's still too close to that man).

Rasheeda: I think you're absolutely right to want to separate your marriage from your business. Your husband cannot carry this workload anymore. So, yes, someone else does need to come in and get things moving in the right direction. I'm totally Team Rasheeda on this one. Rasheeda's grade for the week: A (because she's trying to do right by her career and her marriage, and I respect that).

Erica: We didn't see you on this episode, but we did see Scrappy and Shay/Buckey. Enough said. I'm sorry, but it's not your problem that Scrappy wanted to manipulate the child support system. He should be giving you child support. End of discussion. Team Erica all the way. Erica's grade for the week: A (for taking care of her business, and not being drunk in a pool hall somewhere).

Joseline: I really don't understand the love/hate relationship you have with Creepy J, but I think you love the fact that he tries to control you. Maybe that's due to the childhood you had. I honestly feel sorry for you at times, because I feel like you're trying to liberate yourself from certain things (da stricklub) by shackling yourself to others (the studio). Either way, you're someone's property. I hope you can see one day that being under any man's thumb is no way to live. Joseline's grade for the week: D (for still playing into Stevie J's bullsh*t).

Karlie: Your entire storyline seems way too fake for me, but I'll go ahead and comment on it. Your management doesn't want you dating Benzino. I say, go for it because that's the most noteworthy thing you've done that I can think of. Controversy is going to be your best friend, honey, because we haven't heard not one track of yours on the show. So get it together. And Benzino's right. You're not that hot right now anyway. Karlie's grade for the week: F (for being fake).

K.Michelle: I liked seeing you on a date this week! I thought that was really cute. Hopefully we'll see how things play out with whats-his-name. I still really like you! K.Michelle's grade for the week: A (because she's cool).

"Disattached"

Hello, kids! This post's title comes straight from Momma Dee's ridiculous mouth, while speaking to Erica on this week's Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. This episode gave me everything! I am falling more and more in love with this show, and no, I won't apologize for it. At this point, I don't even care if some of it is scripted/staged/rehearsed (some of it is). The entertainment value is through the motha-effin' roof. Don't judge me.

Erica: I am SO on your team right now. First of all, Scrappy had an asthma attack because he wasn't taking care of himself. Second, you made arrangements for him to get to the hospital. Third, HE HAS ANOTHER CHICK! Your responsibility to be "emotional" and "affectionate" is automatically NULL and VOID due to his having Buckey on the side. I'm sorry, but I don't feel not one ounce of sympathy for Scrappy - partying and doing whatever he wants, and then demanding love and affection from you. You're taking care of business and taking care of your child. That's what you should be doing. If he wants love and affection, then he needs to give that, and moving out of the house and rubbing up on his "best friend" isn't the answer. (I won't even go into the fact that he left you alone when you lost the baby because it's just too sad and terrible.) I think you're absolutely right - he needed an excuse to break up, and he chose the asthma attack incident. You're better off without him, to be honest. You're smart, confident, and most of all, responsible. You were totally right to tell Scrappy off at that lunch/meeting. And he walked away, once again. I just hope he tells you about  his "friend" before you find out from someone else. As for Momma Dee, you know the deal. Scrappy can do no wrong and everything is your fault. Like I said, you're better off walking away from both of them. Let's talk about your conversation with Joseline. I'm so glad she admitted she was wrong about you. I understand why you left it at that, because you two really don't need to be friends, but at least you were vindicated. Erica's grade for the week: A (for saying goodbye to Scrappy - let's hope it's for good!)

Karlie: Just ... wow. Seriously? Ok, let me back up. While I don't think you're a "senior citizen" or 50 years old, you're certainly no spring chicken. I'll get back to that later. I thought it was odd that you told Joseline, "I explained my affiliation" (or something to that effect) when Stevie J said you were with Cash Money. Turns out you tweeted that you're not with Cash Money, yet you let Stevie J say it (in front of you) and you didn't correct him. Again, odd. Moving on, you and Benzino's scene looked totally scripted and totally fake. Period. On to the K. Michelle confrontation - and here's where your age comes back into play - that whole thing was so over the top. Are you really trying to emulate Evelyn Lozada right now? ("Everytime I see you!") I'm sorry, but so much about you is not coming across as real. You're doing way too much and it just looks like you're playing a part. Now, I wanted to know if Joseline and K. Michelle were right about you being 40/50 years old, so I googled you, I IMDB'd you, and all I could come up with was this interview where you say you're 29. Um ... if you're 29, I'm 22 (I'm not). Once again, you're not telling the truth! If Mimi and the other cast members can tell their age, why can't you? There is NO WAY you're 29. Just saying. And I even googled your alias Karlie Lewis from your Scream Queen days. No date of birth to be found. At least you covered your tracks well. I spent way too much time on you already so I'll leave it there. Karlie's grade for the week: F (for being Fake with a capital F, and I really don't care how old you are).

K. Michelle: I had no problem finding your date of birth, incidentally! Sorry, just had to throw that out there. You were full of one liners and jokes on this episode, and I loved it. You're definitely funny - which I thoroughly enjoy - but I can see where some people may see that as hating. You throw most of the shade at Karlie Redd (and with good reason). Let's just say she's most definitely older than you. And I have to say I laughed out loud when you said you would chop her in her "trach-ula" instead of trachea. LOL! Now, if you know anything about me, you know if you can make me laugh, I'll forgive almost anything. So, K. Michelle, you have a free pass with me right now. I also loved the scene with you, Rasheeda, and Erica - that rang true to me and felt genuine. K. Michelle's grade for the week: A (for making me laugh and coming across as real).

Mimi: Congratulations on getting off the Stevie J roller coaster! I'm so proud of you for taking a stand and leaving that relationship. One thing I will say is, don't fall for his apologies or his nice words, because you know where that leads. And listen to Ariane - she's speaking truth. You were a pretty good mediator between Karlie and K. Michelle but it got out of hand before anything got resolved. I just love how calm you were. And your face was priceless when Karlie was acting a fool, talking about how they're gonna have to arrest her. You were like, Girl, please. Amen. Mimi's grade for the week: A (for getting rid of Creepy J!)

Ariane: Good friend, all the way. If this is the role you'll be playing, I fully support that, but I won't grade you every week anymore. Ariane's grade for the week: A (until further notice).

Rasheeda: I love the fact that you're close with Scrappy but you can still be supportive of Erica. That's a good friend. You aren't necessarily taking sides, you're just hearing Erica out and helping her through this break up. And I'm sure you know it's probably for the best. In the previews, it looks like your business relationship with your husband is crumbling, and that's a shame. We'll have to see how that plays out. Rasheeda's grade for the week: A (for being impartial when it comes to Scrappy and Erica).

Bucky!!!

This week's Love and Hip Hop Atlanta was explosive. I was really blown away by a lot of the drama on the show, and I mean that in the best way possible. Yes, this show is trashy, but I like it. And if you're reading this, you do, too! I'm definitely not saying I agree with the shenanigans on the show, but damn, it is entertaining. So let's get right into it.

Mimi: It was so good to see you tell Stevie J where to go and how to get there, but I'm just hoping you stick to your guns. Do not fall for his BS again. Especially after watching the show, you know he's not all about you and your daughter. He made it clear, his first love is money. That should tell you everything you need to know. Listen to K. Michelle and Ariane. Let him go for good. Do your own thing business-wise. You don't need to be mixed up with him - all you have to do is co-parent with him. You're so much better off without him. Mimi's grade for the week: A (for finally seeing the light!)

Joseline: I'm not going to get into how I feel about your choice to have an abortion. I just have one question: If your career takes off, and you become bigger than Beyonce, does it justify that decision? I really want to know. Because I have a bit of a problem with how casually the abortion was mentioned. It was sort of just ... understood. Like I said, it was your choice. I'm just wondering if in the end, it will really be worth it. It reminds me of Lauryn Hill's song To Zion. That's all I'm going to say about it. Now, your role in the Lil Scrappy/Stevie J/Erica fight. You were dead wrong for getting involved. You put something out there that wasn't true just to get a rise out of Erica and get in the mix. Wrong, wrong, wrong. You even admitted the information was wrong, but you're so insecure about who else Stevie J is messing with, you put it out there anyway. That insecurity is YOUR problem, no one else's. And the fact that you're still messing with Stevie J is YOUR problem as well. Joseline's grade for the week: F (because I just don't see where she gets her logic from).

Rasheeda: I love that dinner you made for you and your husband! It shows you really care and that you were listening to him. Good job. Rasheeda's grade for the week: A (I like her a lot!)

Erica: My condolences. Seriously. Your relationship with Lil Scrappy died this week (at least, to me, it did). I was really rooting for you guys. After reconnecting last week, we see what Lil Scrappy had on the side this whole time. Really??? Bucky from Flavor of Love??? Now, I'm not judging, but damn. Erica, you are too good for this BS. Just like Mimi. Cut him loose, co-parent, and call it a day. Your mom was so right. As for the fight with Joseline and Stevie J, Scrappy was defending you as "baby mama" and you went after Stevie J and Joseline hard. I don't condone the fighting, but you were way classier about it than Joseline, which is not that difficult, let's be real. Just realize that he's not fighting for you as his woman, his love, or even his girlfriend. Your role has been decided. Now, take that information and move on. Erica's grade for the week: C (for fighting for something that isn't even there anymore).

K.Michelle: I just love you on this show and I can't wait for your showdown with Karlie next week!! Last week, you came at Karlie (lopsided ass LOL) and I was loving it. I loved that you had a breakthrough of sorts last week, as well, about how your last record deal ended. Learn from it and move on. Your showcase was really great. K.Michelle's grade for the week: A (that's my girl!)

Karlie: Um, the fact that you are trying to steal producers from people on the same reality show as you is what's making me not like you anymore. You aren't a tell-it-like-it-is type girl like I thought you were. You're just loud. And I can't wait for K.Michelle to give you the business next week. Karlie's grade for the week: F (in advance!)

Ariane: Still the ever-present best friend, and a good one, at that. I want to see more of what you've got going on besides consoling Mimi, though. But I will say, you called this whole Stevie J thing from the beginning. Ariane's grade for the week: A (because I value a good friend).

Not Really Reality

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to blog about Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, but let's jump right into it. Now, I'm starting to feel the same as TheSkorpionShow and MuchLoveFromKY on YouTube (subscribe to both of them!!!), that this show is scripted, or at least semi-scripted. There really is nothing wrong with a semi-scripted show, it just shouldn't be that obvious to the viewers. Someone needs to do something about that. If we can tell it's scripted, that's a problem. Now, we got to know a couple of the other cast members a little bit better on this episode but the majority of it was all Stevie J, Mimi, and Joseline again. I'm sorry, but every episode better not be all about them. This storyline is going to go overboard real quick (if it hasn't already), so we need to make sure all of the cast members have their fair share of the camera time. I don't mind if the whole Stevie/Mimi/Jo story plays out over the whole season, just don't dedicate half of every episode to it. Spend a good 15 to 20 minutes of the episode on it and keep it moving. Arianne: I love your friendship with Mimi and I think you're right to want her to leave him. Unfortunately, it's not your choice to make. But you keep being a good friend to her and support her like you're already doing. And by the way, you are stunning! Gorgeous! Arianne's grade for the week: A (for being a good friend).

Karlie: Oh my God. You were hilarious in that scene with Joseline at the gym. I love how you weren't impressed with her insults. I say, stay on Mimi's side. Joseline isn't the boss. But I am in agreement with Kevin and Makael from The Skorpion Show, why are you so obsessed with working with Stevie J when you're man's father is LA Reid??? You should be working with HIM! Unless he said no to you? Hmm ... anyway, you really need to get yourself out of the middle and start working on your music. Be on Mimi's side but don't be the Suzie of this show. Please. Karlie's grade for the week: B (because she's alright, but she needs to start showing us her talent - and I don't mean her talent for stirring up drama).

Erica: I understand where you're coming from with Lil Scrappy. The truth is, you don't trust him and you do have a wall up. I don't think you two are going to get back together and have a real relationship. It's better if you agree to co-parent and be cool with each other. He obviously doesn't know how to fix the broken trust between you. And you need to let go of that anger so that you can meet someone else and trust them. Hopefully you will find that person who won't let you down. Erica's grade for the week: B (because she has a right to have that wall up, but eventually, she's going to have to break that wall down).

Rasheeda: I like you! You're feisty and fun, and a little crazy - but in a good way. I think you are going to be a fan favorite, for sure. And I love that you're putting your music out there on the show and you're showing us what you're all about. No hesitation, just: here it is! I love it. The fact that you work with your husband is a big part of your storyline, and I think it's going to work out well on the show. We'll get to see the drama, like we did on the set of the video, and we'll get to see the dynamics of your relationship all at the same time. The video shoot was a little messy - you were late and upset - but the point is, this is your career. Nina from Much Love From KY is right: you are the star. So what if you have to be your own stylist? Get it together and do what you have to do. Rasheeda's grade for the week: B (because I like her a lot, but she has to take charge of her career and not let anything slow her down).

Joseline: Where do I start? Well, the pregnancy test scene looked like a movie. I can honestly say, you did look beautiful in that scene. The lighting, the makeup, they made you look great peeing on that home pregnancy test. Now, as for the scene with Stevie J, or should I say Creepy J, ugh. I can't with that. He is the worst. Seriously, we all know it's his. Or at least that's what we've come to believe on the show. You confirmed that you are sleeping with him and that you're not with anyone else. I cannot believe he brought up the fact that you have photo shoots coming up! Really? I'm sorry, but whatever you decide to do, do not continue to see this man romantically. Work with him if you can, but even then, it's just creepy. In all honesty, I think you should run for your life (away from Creepy J) on this one. I do feel sorry for you in a small way, because you are a woman in love/infatuation, and it is a sad situation. But you put yourself there, and now it's time to get yourself out. And here's another bit of advice, don't go around telling people you're the boss and Creepy J will work with whoever you say. Because we all know that's not true. Know your role. You are the jump-off, nothing more. The proof is in that disgusting reaction Creepy J gave you when you told him you're pregnant. Joseline's grade for the week: D (even though I feel sorry for her, she needs to wake up and smell the coffee).

Mimi: Speaking of waking up, Mimi, when did this savvy businesswoman pop up out of nowhere??? Here's my thing, why did it take you 15 years to demand 10% of Creepy J's money? In reality, that should have been happening since day one, since you are his main chick, right? Was that whole contract negotiation scene scripted? Because it felt like it was. Especially with the piano interlude. Barf. I'm serious. The sight of Creepy J turns my stomach. I can't. But, Mimi, I hope you're going to play the role of the serious business partner the whole way through the season and just take that man's money and go on about your business. Hell, you should get a boyfriend! But please do not be all lovey dovey with Creepy J or even entertain his advances towards you. Mimi's grade for the week: C (because I like that she's getting into the business, but it should have been that way already, and I can't stand to see her fall for Creepy J's bulls*t).
